Star pattern
Star, 2024
About the work
The star is knitted starting with its five points, which are worked in the round on dpns. Once all five points are completed, they are joined together and the center section is worked in the round.
Yarn, gauge, and recommended needles
Since the gauge of the ornaments is not crucial, you can skip the gauge swatch and work the ornaments in any yarn and with any needle size you prefer.
Adjust your needle size to the yardage of the yarn; the thicker the yarn and the bigger the needles, the bigger your finished ornament will be. In each of the patterns I have added a small table with
different suggestions to the needle size given the yardage of the yarn.
Materials
- Yarn of your choice.
- Circular needles for casting on (optional).
- Double-pointed needles (dpns).
- Stitch markers.
- Tapestry needle.
- Something to hang the ornament with, such as satin ribbon.
- Stuffing. (suitable for washing and centrifuging)
- (Embroidery) thread, pearls, ribbons, or what you want to decorate your ornament.
