Royal Guard (pattern)

Description

The ornament is worked from the top down in the round in stockinette stitch, starting at the top of the guard's hat. You can choose to work the hat using loop stitch if you prefer.

Yarn, gauge, and recommended needles

As gauge is not critical for these ornaments, you can skip knitting a gauge swatch and use any yarn and needle size you prefer.
Choose your needle size based on the yarn's yardage (metres per gram). The thicker the yarn and the larger the needles, the larger your finished ornament will be.

Each pattern includes a small table with suggested needle sizes based on the yarn's yardage.

Materials

• Yarn of your choice in black, a skin tone, red, and blue.
• Circular needles for casting on (optional).
• Double-pointed needles.
• Stitch marker.
• Tapestry needle.
• Ribbon or string for hanging, such as satin ribbon.
• Stuffing (optional).
• Embroidery thread, beads, ribbons, or anything else you'd like to decorate your ornament with.
